A new force in jazz is coming! Come and experience Vincent Choy's fresh and vibrant musical style.
Born in Hong Kong and active in Australia, Vincent is a jazz guitarist and composer who has been gaining recognition on the international stage with his mature musical vocabulary and dynamic improvisational skills. Currently developing his career in both Hong Kong and Australia, Vincent is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and has recently received the Jazz Honours Award for his outstanding graduation recital.
During his undergraduate studies, Vincent has collaborated and shared the stage with numerous internationally acclaimed musicians, including Frank Gambale, Varijashree Venugopal, Barney McAll, Danny Susnjar, Stu Hunter, Kung Suk Leong, Jo Davie, and Pat Carroll.* He was selected as a performing scholar for the DOTS+LOOPS Festival in Brisbane, presenting an interdisciplinary concert at The Tivoli that garnered much attention. He has also performed at notable festivals such as the Sydney Con Jazz Festival. In 2024, Vincent was chosen to join the youth big band of the Australian National Jazz Orchestra as a guitarist and performed alongside Grammy-nominated saxophonist Remy Le Boeuf at the Sydney Con Jazz Festival and Perth International Jazz Festival.
The performance will be accompanied by bassist Justin Siu and drummer Samuel Chan.
